Santos' Gabigol to focus on future after winning Olympic gold with Brazil

Santos striker Gabriel Barbosa will turn his attention to his future now that the Olympic Games have finished.

Gabigol, as the Brazilian is better known, was watched by Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez in July as they look to add a back-up forward to their frontline of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

Inter Milan and Juventus have made offers for the player.

Barcelona have first right of refusal on the player because he was included in a clause on the 2013 Neymar transfer from Santos.

Valencia's Paco Alcacer remains Barca's top pick, according to Mundo Deportivo, but the club do still have a preferential option to buy Gabigol according to Sport.

"Up until now, I haven't really had the time to think about anything because my attention was completely on the Olympics," the 19-year-old told ESPN Brazil.

"Now I will celebrate with my family, then I will return to Santos and think about what I should do."

Speaking a few days ago, Santos president Modesto Roma said that only Juventus and Inter Milan have made offers for the young forward.

"Santos are not interested in selling our players. If the offers arrive, then we'll evaluate them," Roma told Esporte Interactivo.

"Officially we have only received two, from Juventus and Inter. The rest is lies."

The arrival of a new striker at Barcelona could see Munir El Haddadi leave the club. Sport have reported interest from several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham.
