Man City target Claudio Bravo hasn't said goodbye - Barca's Andre Gomes

Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes says goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has not said goodbye to anyone yet despite reports he is close to finalising a switch to Manchester City.

Bravo, 33, was given a rapturous reception by the Camp Nou crowd on Wednesday and appeared to be more emotional than usual when embracing his teammates after the Blaugrana won the Spanish Super Cup by beating Sevilla 5-0 on aggregate.

However, echoing Javier Mascherano's comments on Tuesday, Gomes refused to give anything away when questioned about the Premier League side's interest.

"I've not seen Bravo say goodbye to anyone," the 23-year-old said after making his Barca debut following his summer move from Valencia. "He was really happy with his great performance and to have won the trophy."

Sporting director Robert Fernandez has said the Chile international will feature in this weekend's La Liga opener but conceded he could leave the club after that.

Diego Alves has been tipped to replace Bravo, but Gomes insists he's in the dark over a potential move for his former teammate.

"I know him really well from Valencia and he's a great goalkeeper, but I don't know anything else," he added.

Speaking earlier in the week, Luis Enrique confirmed that Barca still expect to make more signings before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.

As well as Alves, Catalan newspaper Sport has said Valencia striker Paco Alcacer is a target as the Catalan side look to add another forward to their squad.

Barca midfielder Sergio Busquets says it is important that Barca have options in every area.

"Already in preseason you can see how important it is to have a deep squad," Busquets told reporters. "We have been left without four teammates due to injury going into La Liga and it's good to have players available in each position."

Barca begin their title defence on Saturday at home to Real Betis and while Busquets says they're still hungry for titles, he said fatigue is already setting in.

"We go into the season a little tired, but that's how the calendar is," the 28-year-old said. "You can never stop.

"Logically there's no objective other than being champions again, but I'm sure that [Real] Madrid, Atletico and other sides won't make it easy for us.

"It is going to be a tough competition, for sure."
