Napoli keeper Pepe Reina denies making Barcelona approach

Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina has dismissed claims he has put himself forward as an option for Barcelona to replace Claudio Bravo.

Catalan newspaper Sport reported that former Liverpool keeper Reina had been in touch with Barca to offer his services in the event they sell Bravo to Manchester City.

However, the 33-year-old has dismissed the claim on Twitter, writing: "It's rubbish!! I've not offered myself to anybody!! Enough of these lies...Forza Napoli always!! Now let's prepare for Sunday! Is that clear?"

Reina returned to Napoli on a permanent transfer last summer after spending a season at Bayern Munich as backup to Manuel Neuer. He was previously on loan in Naples for the 2013-14 campaign.

The Spaniard was an ever-present last season and is expected to be Maurizio Sarri's No. 1 again in the coming campaign, which starts with a trip to Pescara on Sunday evening.

Meanwhile, Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini's agent has dismissed speculation linking him with a move.

"He's staying with Napoli," Silvio Pagliari told Sportitalia. "Leaving has never been a consideration of ours."
