Inter Milan bid for Gabriel 'Gabigol' Barbosa accepted by Santos

Inter Milan have had a bid for Brazil forward Gabriel "Gabigol" Barbosa accepted, Santos president Modesto Roma has confirmed.

Gabigol, 19, is currently representing his country at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and Roma says a decision on the player's future will only be made after the tournament.

Inter have joined Juventus in the chase for the Brazilian forward with Roma confirming last month that the Serie A champions are also interested in signing the player.

"I can confirm that Santos have received an offer from Inter and now we're all waiting for a definite decision to be taken by the player and his family," Roma told fcinter1908.it.

"It will depend a lot on them, so if they give their consent, we will start to conclude negotiations with Inter. It will probably be [after the Olympics]. We're all waiting."

Premier League champions Leicester City and La Liga giants Barcelona have also recently been linked with a move for the young prospect.

Gabigol has scored five goals in 10 league outings this season, having found the back of the net 10 times last term.

He helped the struggling host nation progress into the knockout phase with two goals in the 4-0 win over Denmark in their final group match on Wednesday.
