Bastian Schweinsteiger attracting interest from English clubs - report

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is attracting interest from Premier League clubs, according to Press Association Sport, while Juan Mata is reportedly likely to stay at Old Trafford.

A year after joining from Bayern Munich, Schweinsteiger looks set to be on the move once again.

Jose Mourinho's arrival has seen the former Germany captain frozen out, prompting Dejan Stefanovic of world players' union FIFPro to say the United boss should be jailed for "bullying."

The Press Association reports that the 32-year-old World Cup winner is attracting widespread interest, with several other clubs in the Premier League among those keen to bring him in. It adds that United are confident of selling Schweinsteiger and do not expect wages to prove a stumbling block.

PA Sport also reports that Mata, sold by Mourinho during their time at Chelsea, looks set to stay Old Trafford, but Adnan Januzaj is likely to leave, although it may only be a temporary exit.

Januzaj, 21, returned early from an underwhelming loan spell at Borussia Dortmund last term and a season at another club is being considered.
