Watford send Steven Berghuis on season-long loan to Feyenoord

Watford winger Steven Berghuis will spend the upcoming season on loan with Feyenoord.

Berghuis, 24, joined Watford from another Duth club, AZ Alkmaar, last summer, and made 11 appearances for the Hornets last season.

He will now return to the Eredivisie for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's Feyenoord, who will take part in the Europa League this year following a third-placed finish.

Berghuis, who has three Netherlands caps, passed his medical on Monday before signing his loan move.

"We have been looking to strengthen the attack for a while now and we are delighted that we have been able to add Steven to our squad," Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel said.

"Steven is a player with a lot of creativity, who's excellent with his feet and has plenty of goals in him. His arrival is widely supported at the club. We are confident he makes Feyenoord stronger."
