Manchester United ready to sell Will Keane for £1m - sources

Manchester United are prepared to sell Will Keane this summer, with five clubs making enquiries for the player, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Keane, who scored the first goal of Jose Mourinho's reign during the 2-0 preseason friendly win at Wigan Athletic earlier this month, will be allowed to leave for a cut-price fee of £1 million.

The 23-year-old, who came through the youth ranks at the club, was included in United's squad for their preseason tour of China but he seems set to leave Old Trafford on a permanent basis this summer.

Keane has had spells out on loan at Wigan, Queens Park Rangers, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End in the last three seasons after finding himself down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

The former England under-21 international spent the first half of last season on loan at Preston, scoring two goals in 22 appearances before being recalled by United only to suffer a season-ending injury in the FA Cup win over Shrewsbury Town.

United are open to offers for Keane this summer as his first-team chances are set to be limited with Mourinho well-stocked for attacking options.

News of Keane's availability for a cut-price £1m has alerted a number of club and sources have told ESPN FC that up to five clubs have expressed an interest in him.
