Sevilla confirm Ciro Immobile headed to Lazio

Sevilla confirmed on Wednesday that striker Ciro Immobile is leaving to sign for Lazio.

Immobile, 26, spent the second half of last season on loan with Torino where he scored five goals in 14 appearances, after failing to make an impression in La Liga during the first half of the campaign.

Lazio have reportedly paid €8.5 million for the Naples-born forward, who joined Sevilla last summer from Borussia Dortmund for €11m.

Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi had said over the weekend that the deal was nearly done.

"Jordan Lukaku has arrived and will challenge Stefan Radu for a place," he told reporters. "Immobile is on his way and something will happen in defence. We'll see who else turns up."

Sevilla are looking for a forward ahead of the European and Spanish Supercups next month with Atletico Madrid's Luciano Vietto reportedly near a €3m loan deal that includes a €20m option to buy.

Vietto, 22, joined Atletico from Villarreal for €20 million last summer but only scored three goals as he slipped out of the first-team picture under coach Diego Simeone.
