Napoli offer for Corentin Tolisso rejected - Lyon president

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has admitted that Napoli made a "considerable offer" to midfielder Corentin Tolisso amid conflicting reports over the player's future.

On Tuesday evening a post on Lyon's Twitter account denied that a deal for Tolisso, 21, had been agreed.

L'Equipe reported on Wednesday, however, that the clubs had a verbal agreement in place that would allow Tolisso to move to Serie A and could see Lyon bank €30 million.

Speaking before the latest reports emerged, Aulas had said he would like to keep hold of the France under-21 international.

"It's true that they made a considerable offer to Corentin," Aulas told Foot Mercato about Napoli's interest.

"We resisted because we want Corentin to stay at Lyon.

"As Corentin wants, until now, to stay at Lyon, our interests converge so we made sure that he did not leave."

However, Aulas also hinted that it might be harder to reject Napoli's advances now that they are cash-rich after selling Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus for €90 million.
