Filip Djuricic joins Sampdoria on loan from Benfica

Sampdoria have signed Serbia international Filip Djuricic on a season-long loan from Portuguese champions Benfica.

The Serie A side have the right to make the 24-year-old attacking midfielder's move permanent at the end of the campaign.

A statement on the club's website said: "Sampdoria reports that Serbian attacking midfielder Filip Djuricic -- born in Obrenovac, Serbia on 30 January 1992 -- has joined the club from Benfica on a loan deal that includes an option to buy."

Djuricic, who has 24 international caps, began his career in his homeland with FK Radnicki Obrenovac before making almost 100 appearances in the top tier of Dutch football with Heerenveen.

He moved to Benfica in 2013 but struggled for first-team football in Portugal and spent time on loan with German club Mainz, Premier League Southampton and Belgian side Anderlecht.
