Matthias Ginter remains in Borussia Dortmund's plans - Michael Zorc

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has said defender Matthias Ginter remains part of the club's plans despite links with Arsenal, Hamburg and Wolfsburg.

Germany international Ginter, 22, joined Dortmund from Freiburg after the 2014 World Cup but has struggled for consistency at the Westfalenstadion.

Despite an impressive start to last season, he ultimately fell behind Poland right-back Lukasz Piszczek in the pecking order following the winter break and has been linked with an exit.

Bundesliga clubs Hamburg and Wolfsburg have been credited with an interest in recent weeks, while The Sun said Arsenal were readying a move for the versatile defender.

However, Zorc has told Bild that Ginter will not follow the likes of Mats Hummels, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Ilkay Gundogan out of the club.

"Matthias is part of our plans for next season," he said.

On Wednesday, Dortmund announced that Ginter has had to pull out of the club's upcoming tour of Asia because of stomach flu.
