France midfielder Dimitri Payet has given West Ham United fans a huge boost ahead of the 2016-17 season by vowing to stay with the club.
Having joined the Hammers from Marseille last summer, Payet went on to score 12 goals in all competitions to force his way into Didier Deschamps' Euro 2016 plans.
He further strengthened his claims as one of the top attacking midfielders in Europe when he helped France go all the way to the finals, only to lose 1-0 to Portugal in extra time.
West Ham, who are slated to play at their new home the Olympic Stadium in the upcoming season, were given a shot in the arm when Payet made known his intentions to stay in London.
"I've heard about all the interest and I'm flattered," he told The Sun.
"But I love West Ham. We had a fantastic season and I can't wait to play in the Olympic Stadium.
"I'm 100 percent staying at West Ham, I love the club. I can tell the Hammers fans that."
Payet's rise has seen West Ham co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan determined not to sell their star player for anything less than £50 million, with top European clubs rumoured to be keen on his services.
Gold went as far as to claim that the club will do everything possible to keep Payet in a Hammers shirt next season.
"We'll fight tooth and nail to make sure Dimitri pulls on a claret and blue shirt next season," he said.
"We want to improve our squad and Dimitri is an integral part of what we're trying to do. But we also must be realistic.
"If Barcelona or Real Madrid made a bid and he wanted to move there, it would be difficult to keep him."
West Ham open their Premier League campaign with an away game against Antonio Conte's Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, where they will hope to do better than their seventh-place finish from last season.
