Borussia's Dortmund's Mats Hummels in Bayern Munich talks - Rummenigge

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed the club are in talks with Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels.

Hummels, 27, has been linked with a move away from Dortmund, with Manchester City and Bayern among the clubs linked with his signature.

On Monday, Dortmund said that they would be willing to let their captain if the price is right, with CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke saying any move will come down to a decision between the club and rivals Bayern.

"In principle I can confirm Mr. Watzke's statement that Mats is considering FC Bayern," Rummenigge said of Hummels, whose contract runs until 2017.

"Three parties are involved and that's why I hope you will understand that I don't want to go into details today."

"We have to consider the contract here. And I don't want to destroy the relationships [with BVB] we've established in the past two years with a thoughtless statement."

Hummels signed for Dortmund from Bayern in 2009 and he has since helped the club win two Bundesliga titles and the DFB Pokal.
