Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze has revealed he is still in contact with Jurgen Klopp but said he has not discussed a transfer with the Liverpool boss.
Gotze, 23, emerged as one of German football's most promising talents in Klopp's Borussia Dortmund side but , despite scoring the winner in the 2014 World Cup final, his club career has stalled since joining Bayern in 2013.
On Saturday, the Germany international made his first start for the club in five months, despite having returned to fitness after a groin injury in February, and he has been linked with an exit for some time.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Gotze on a regular basis since Klopp's appointment in October, and the player said he remains in contact with his former coach.
"We are texting now and again," Gotze told ZDF TV. "He was my coach at Borussia Dortmund, but there is nothing special."
Asked whether they had discussed a potential transfer to Anfield, Gotze replied: "No."
Gotze featured for 54 minutes in Saturday's 5-0 win over Werder Bremen and said: "It was nice to return. I am just pleased that I was able to play again."
He remained coy over his future, saying it "hinges on many factors" but that his focus is "that I win minutes and we have a successful run-in."
He added: "Everything else will show in the future."
With Pep Guardiola leaving the club in the summer, Gotze knows that incoming boss Carlo Ancelotti could be crucial in deciding his Bayern future.
"We are still in the current season but, sure, it'll be important what the new coach thinks," he said.
Speaking to kicker, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge did not go into detail about Gotze future and simply urged the player to show his worth in the final weeks of the season.
"He was signed as a player with a big name," Rummenigge said. "It would be nice if Mario could significantly contribute to the crucial next two months and help us win some silverware in the end."
Bayern sporting executive Matthias Sammer, meanwhile, said the club will "analyse the situation in the summer" and added: "We also have to see what the player wants."
Bayern are currently five points clear of Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga with eight games remaining and Guardiola's side remain in contention to win the DFB Pokal and Champions League.
