BVB boss 'not convinced' Ilkay Gundogan will stay amid Man City links

Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel accepts that llkay Gundogan may not be at the club next season amid reports of a meeting between the midfielder's agent and representatives of Manchester City.

On Wednesday, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf published pictures it said showed Gundogan's uncle and agent Ilhan attending a meeting with incoming City coach Pep Guardiola and sporting director Txiki Begiristain in Amsterdam.

Speaking at a news conference ahead of Dortmund's Europa League match against Tottenham on Thursday, Tuchel said he "does not care" about the pictures and the report "doesn't affect my mood at all."

But he said Gundogan, under contract at Dortmund until 2017, could leave this summer and added: "I am not convinced that he will stay.

"We should be clear-headed. Pep has allegedly met his agent. We also plan our squad for the next season. We also talk to agents. That's our daily business.

"I am not convinced that he will stay, and I will only be convinced once he commits himself to the club. I only know what we can offer him."

Tuchel stressed that Gundogan would have a leadership role at Dortmund and explained: "Ilkay knows about it."

Earlier this month, the Germany international told Bild there was "nothing new to report" about his contract situation.

Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc said the club would continue to negotiate with the Gelsenkirchen-born player and "have patience."
