Borussia Dortmund silent on reported Ilkay Gundogan to Man City meeting

Borussia Dortmund have refused to comment on pictures showing Ilkay Gundogan's uncle and agent meeting Manchester City's Txiki Begiristain in Amsterdam on Monday.

On Tuesday, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported a meeting between incoming City manager Pep Guardiola and the club's sporting director Begiristain in Amsterdam less than 48 hours after Bayern Munich's goalless draw at Dortmund.

De Telegraaf has also published pictures of Begiristain meeting with Ilhan Gundogan, the uncle and agent of Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

Gundogan, 25, is under contract at Dortmund until 2017, and a decision on his future is expected before the summer.

Confronted with the meeting between Gundogan's representative and City's director of football at the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam's city centre, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc quoted as saying by Bild: "No comment."

In late February, Zorc said that Dortmund will continue to negotiate with the Gelsenkirchen-born player, who has returned to form after career-threatening back problems, which ruled him out from August 2013 through to October 2014.

Earlier that month, Dortmund rejected rumours in the Spanish media that the 25-year-old had already reached an agreement with Manchester City.
