Emmanuel Eboue to join Sunderland for remainder of season - sources

Former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue has agreed a deal to join Sunderland until the end of the season, sources have told ESPN FC.

Free agent Eboue has spent the last three weeks on trial at Sunderland as he looks to find himself a new club after leaving Galatasaray at the end of last season.

Eboue has impressed Sunderland's coaching staff during his trial stint on Wearside and the club have offered the Ivorian a deal until the end of the season.

Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce is keen to add to his full-back options with the likes of Billy Jones and DeAndre Yedlin struggling to nail down the right-back spot at the Stadium of Light.

Allardyce sees Eboue's Premier League experience as a valuable addition to his squad for the remainder of the season as they battle to avoid relegation.

Eboue could go straight into the Sunderland squad for this weekend's trip to Southampton if he signs in time.
