Hebei China Fortune announce Ezequiel Lavezzi deal from PSG

Hebei China Fortune have announced the signing of Ezequiel Lavezzi from Paris Saint-Germain.

Lavezzi's PSG contract was due to expire at the end of the season and sources told ESPN FC earlier this month that the Argentina international was planning a move to China despite links with clubs including Inter Milan and Chelsea.

Hebei announced on Weibo and Wei Xin on Wednesday that a deal had been agreed to sign the 30-year-old and published pictures of the former Napoli attacker signing a contract.

The Chinese Super League club signed Ivory Coast international Gervinho from Roma and Cameroon midfielder Stephane Mbia in January and also brought in former France under-21 international Gael Kakuta from Sevilla this month.

Lavezzi had initially been expected to join Shanghai Shenhua but Gregorio Manzano's side, who released Tim Cahill this week, are set to sign Seattle Sounders' Nigerian striker Obafemi Martins, who would become the fifth foreign player on their books.

CSL clubs are restricted to five foreign players in their squad, with one of the five having to hold a passport belonging to an Asian Football Confederation nation. They are permitted to field three foreigners and one AFC player on the pitch at any one time.
