Hungary international Krisztian Nemeth spent just one year with Sporting KC.

Qatari side Al-Gharafa are to sign Krisztian Nemeth from Sporting Kansas City.

Hungary international Nemeth, 27, scored 10 goals in 28 games in his sole season in Major League Soccer but is to join Al-Gharafa, subject to a medical.

The former Liverpool striker helped Sporting KC to success in the Open Cup as well as winning the MLS Goal of the Year award and being named his club's Newcomer of the Year.

Sporting KC manager Peter Vermes said: "We wish Krisztian the best of luck and thank him for his valuable contributions to the club.

"He is a talented player who made tremendous strides last year, including helping us win the US Open Cup."

Nemeth had also played for clubs including AEK Athens, Olympiakos and Roda JC before moving to MLS.
