Former Palermo coach Davide Ballardini feels Franco Vazquez is ready to move to the Premier League, citing Liverpool and Manchester United as ideal destinations.
Ballardini may only have sat in the dugout of the Sicilian club for two months, but he saw enough of Vazquez in training and matches to be convinced he is ready to follow in Paulo Dybala's footsteps by becoming the next Rosanero to leave for a bigger side.
According to the 52-year-old, midfielder Vazquez, who has scored just three goals all season, can take that step immediately.
"Of course he is [ready]," Ballardini told Mediaset. "He's got the quality and he deserves to play for a club like Liverpool or Manchester United."
Ballardini also saw plenty of other talent coming through the ranks at Palermo, whose recent products include Edinson Cavani and Javier Pastore.
"We picked up seven points in seven games, but we had a young side," Ballardini, who left Palermo earlier this month, said. "Soon, they are going to mature and do even better. I'm talking about the likes of [Oscar] Hiljemark, [Edoardo] Goldaniga, [Aleksandar] Trajkovski, [Robin] Quaison, [Ivaylo] Chochev."
Palermo are already onto their fourth coach this season, with Giovanni Tedesco appointed earlier this week. He will be conducting training and team affairs until Guillermo Barros Schelotto, who had been appointed to replace Ballardini, earns his coaching badge.
Giuseppe Iachini was dismissed in November by Maurizio Zamparini, who has now made 29 managerial changes in his 13 years as Palermo president. He has overseen 55 changes of coach in his presidential career, including his time at Venezia.
