Andros Townsend has confirmed he is joining Newcastle United from Tottenham, and says the Magpies are the "only club" he wanted to join.
Sources have told ESPN FC that Townsend is close to moving to St. James' Park after the clubs agreed a fee, which Press Association Sport reports as £12 million.
The 24-year-old winger, who has been with Spurs since he was eight, has also been linked with Sunderland and Southampton this month but revealed he could "never turn down" Newcastle.
"As soon as I knew of Newcastle's interest they were the only club I wanted to join," Townsend told Sky Sports.
"Two of the best positions you can play in football are centre-forward and left wing at Newcastle. I've got the chance.
"I could never turn that down. I can't wait to play my first game at St James' Park."
Townsend had all but admitted he was leaving his boyhood club earlier on Tuesday, tweeting a picture of him leaving the Spurs' Hotspur Way training ground.
Townsend, who is set to earn £55,000 a week at Newcastle, is flying north on Tuesday to begin talks ahead of a medical on Wednesday.
The winger has not played for the Spurs first team since October and has been completely frozen out by manager Mauricio Pochettino after an altercation with fitness coach Nathan Gardiner in November.

The England international has played just 64 minutes of Premier League football this season but he has been keeping fit for the under-21s, playing in their last six matches, and should be ready to face Everton at Goodison Park on Feb. 3.
Townsend made his Tottenham debut against Charlton in the FA Cup in January 2011. After nine different loan spells, he finally made his breakthrough under coach Andre Villas-Boas in the 2013-14 season.
He has 10 England caps, scoring three times for the Three Lions.
