Ciro Immobile set for return to Torino after Sevilla spell

Ciro Immobile is set to return to Torino after failing to make an impression at Sevilla.

Italy international Immobile, 25, joined Borussia Dortmund from Torino in 2014 but scored just three Bundesliga goals in his debut campaign before being sent out on loan to Sevilla last summer.

The move to La Liga has also proved a disappointment and he is now set for a move back to Turin, where he was greeted by around 300 Torino supporters at the airport on Tuesday night.

"I am so moved," he told Sky Sport Italia, according to Football Italia. "This welcome means I did something good here. I want to begin again with Torino and then I'll think about the Nazionale."

Respected German publication kicker reported in September that Sevilla had signed Immobile on a permanent deal after making five appearances for the Spanish club, although that news was not made official.

Gazzetta World suggested Torino reached an agreement with Sevilla that would allow him to cancel his loan from Dortmund and rejoin the Granata on a temporary deal until the end of the season, with the German side to receive €8 million in the summer.
