Norwich City's Lewis Grabban close to Bournemouth transfer - sources

Bournemouth are closing in on the signing of Norwich City forward Lewis Grabban, sources have told ESPN FC.

Bournemouth completed the signing of Wolves striker Benik Afobe over the weekend and boss Eddie Howe is keen to add more forward options to his squad in the shape of Grabban.

The Cherries saw several offers for Grabban rejected during the summer transfer window, when the striker was punished by Norwich for walking out of the team hotel prior to a Capital One Cup tie with Rotherham.

The 27-year-old worked his way back into Alex Neil's plans after being fined and suspended by the club for going AWOL but he has found himself out of favour in recent weeks and has not figured in Norwich's matchday squad for the last five games.

Bournemouth have continued to keep tabs on Grabban's situation and sources have told ESPN FC they have tabled a new bid in the region of £7 million for the former Millwall man.

Norwich are ready to cash in on Grabban to allow them to move for their own transfer targets, with Everton's Steve Naismith at the top of their wanted list.

Grabban spent two years with Bournemouth prior to his move to Norwich in 2014.
