Bordeaux president: Wahbi Khazri can only leave for 'ridiculously high' offer

Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud has said his club have no intention of selling Aston Villa target Wahbi Khazri unless a "ridiculously high offer" comes in.

Khazri, 24, has scored five times in Ligue 1 and made six more goals for Bordeaux, who are currently 14th in the table.

Last month, Everton were tipped to move for the Tunisia international -- but Aston Villa boss Remi Garde has also made it clear he would like to sign the player.

But Triaud stressed that his club do not plan to sell Khazri, who is under contract until 2018.

"We have an interesting second half of the season to play," the Bordeaux president told L'Equipe.

"It's not the time to weaken ourselves. It would require a ridiculously high offer."

Villa, bottom of the Premier League with eight points from 19 matches, want to sign Khazri in order to boost their creative options.

Last week, Garde said: "I know him quite well. He's a good player."

L'Equipe reported that La Liga club Sevilla are also tracking Khazri, who joined Bordeaux in summer 2014.
