Colombian international Fabian Castillo is in line for a possible move from MLS outfit FC Dallas to Liga MX giant Club America, according to two separate sources with knowledge of the deal consulted by ESPN FC.

High level negotiations between the clubs are underway for the 23-year-old and the deal would be around $7.5 million, according to one source. Another source suggested the negotiations aren't far away from being concluded.

The signing of the winger Castillo -- who is right-footed but adept using both feet and can play on either wing -- would be an important coup for Las Aguilas, with a number of reports suggesting that club captain Rubens Sambueza could be on his way out at the end of the current Apertura tournament.

Cali native Castillo signed for FC Dallas as an 18-year-old in March 2011 from Deportivo Cali and enjoyed a break-out season in 2014, during which there was one report of interest from Las Aguilas.

Castillo scored 10 goals in 30 games in MLS for FC Dallas in 2014 and has 10 in 32 (as well as nine assists) so far in the 2015 season.

More recently, he has been linked to Premier League club Swansea City.

Castillo has previously represented Colombia at Under-17 and Under-20 level and received his first call-up to the full Colombian national team in September.

He has since played three matches, including two appearances in last month's World Cup qualifiers.

FC Dallas and Castillo will face Portland Timbers away on Sunday in the first leg of the Western Conference final. The winner overall will play Columbus Crew SC or New York Red Bulls in the MLS Cup final on Dec. 6.
