Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo likely to return to England - Jose Semedo

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to end his career in England, according to former Sporting Lisbon teammate Jose Semedo.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Semedo, who has played in England since leaving Sporting in 2007, remains close friends with Ronaldo and believes the 30-year-old is keen to return to the Premier League.

Ronaldo won the Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year awards during his time at Manchester United and, although Semedo says he is happy at Madrid, he claimed the Portugal star is likely to return to England.

Former Portugal youth international Semedo told talkSPORT: "He is very happy at Real Madrid [but] he loves English football, he loves English people, and deep down I think he will come back to England because it doesn't look like he wants to finish his career without getting back to England.

"He said he would wish Real Madrid is in England, but that is not possible. I believe he will end his career in English football again."

Ronaldo, who joined Madrid from United in 2009, indicated earlier this season that he plans to stay at the Bernabeu but left the door open to a potential departure in the future.

The forward has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain.
