Barcelona's Denis Suarez to end Sevilla loan and join Villarreal

Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez is expected to end his loan spell at Sevilla and join Villarreal on a permanent deal.

Former Manchester City youth player Suarez, 21, joined Barca in 2013 and agreed a two-year loan switch to Sevilla in 2014.

Although Sevilla boss Unai Emery would like to retain the Spain youth international, Villarreal are set to pay them €4 million to end the loan agreement, according to Sport, with Suarez then due to move to El Madrigal on a free transfer from Barca.

Sport added that, as part of the agreement, Barca will be able to repurchase the player for €3m at the end of this season or €6m at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.

Sevilla sporting director Monchi, speaking at the presentation of new signing Fernando Llorente on Friday night, said: "We are negotiating with Villarreal and Barca about Denis. Talks are very advanced.

"It was something that needed to be addressed. We have defended our interests satisfactorily and it will be a good deal for everyone."

He added that his club would receive "significant compensation that satisfies us" but said it was unlikely they would bring in a replacement.

"We have various ideas in the case that Denis does leave, but it's likely that we don't do anything right now," he said.
