Ivan Perisic set to complete move to Inter Milan from Wolfsburg

Inter Milan hope to wrap up the signing of Ivan Perisic on Friday after the player was left out of the Wolfsburg squad for the Bundesliga clash with Schalke.

Reports in Italy and Germany suggest Croatia international Perisic is on his way to the Nerazzurri, whose coach Roberto Mancini has made him a key summer target.

The clubs are reported to have moved closer to an agreement, despite Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs suggesting that Inter would not be able to afford the 26-year-old.

According to the Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung, a deal worth a total of €20 million could be done, although Wolfsburg may not receive even half of that up front.

An initial payment of €8m would be followed by a further €10m after Perisic makes 10 appearances, with €2m in bonus payments in the event that he helps bring success to the Serie A club.

Perisic was left out of the Wolves' squad, with coach Dieter Hecking telling reporters at the training ground that he sensed the midfielder was not 100 percent focused.

He has turned down the club's offer of a new contract, and Inter general manager Marco Fassone voiced "cautious optimism" that a deal could be done, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Mancini said there was "nothing new" to reveal, adding that Inter were "working on several options and it's hard to say which one will come off."
