Monaco's Layvin Kurzawa is joining PSG, Laurent Blanc confirms

Layvin Kurzawa will leave Monaco for Paris Saint-Germain, Laurent Blanc has confirmed.

RMC and Nice-Matin reported that Kurzawa, 22, was spotted at Nice airport on Wednesday morning boarding a plane bound for Paris ahead of a €23 million move to PSG.

After rejecting an initial offer of €18m, Monaco reportedly agreed to sell the France international full-back after PSG upped their bid -- and the Ligue 1 champions' coach has welcomed the young defender to the French capital.

Blanc told France Bleu on Wednesday: "It was a difficult deal because Monaco are one of PSG's main rivals in the title race, and I thank all club representatives for bringing him this transfer.

"He is a very good player who joins us as a youngster with good potential."

Following the departure of Lucas Digne to Roma, PSG had been seeking a left-back to provide cover and competition for Maxwell, who recently signed a contract extension through to the end of the 2015-16 season.

A Monaco youth academy product, Kurzawa earned senior international recognition last season, and started all three of his former club's league games this term.

He also featured in Monaco's Champions League playoff second-leg tie with Valencia on Tuesday evening -- his last appearance for the club.

Though he played in that match, which saw Monaco exit 4-3 on aggregate despite a 2-1 win on the night, Kurzawa remains eligible to play in the competition's group stage for PSG as per UEFA regulations.
