Fulham are set to match Queens Park Rangers' bid to sign United States defender Tim Ream from Bolton, sources have told ESPN FC. QPR agreed a fee in the region of £1.4 million with Bolton for Ream on Wednesday after seeing several previous offers rejected by their Championship rivals. Bolton boss Neil Lennon confirmed on Thursday morning that QPR's bid had been accepted and that a deal was likely. "I think a fee has been agreed for Tim but I don't know if it's gone through yet or not, but it looks like he's on his way to QPR," he told The Bolton News. However, although Bolton have given Ream permission to travel to London to hold talks with QPR officials, sources have told ESPN FC that Fulham remain in the race for the player. If Fulham agree a fee with Bolton, it will then come down to a decision from the player over whether he wants to join QPR or Fulham. Ream joined Bolton from New York Red Bulls in 2012 and has made over 100 appearances for the club. Lennon, who said earlier this week that QPR and Fulham had seen bids rejected, added that it was "a blow" to lose Ream but said: "He's a player whose loss we can hopefully cope with, and it will give me the opportunity to bring one or two other players in. "We're not too bad defensively at the minute but we'll look to get one more in, and then certainly one in an attacking area as well."
