Brazilian youngster Kenedy praised by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho has backed Brazilian youngster Kenedy to have a bright future with Chelsea.

ESPN FC reported last month that Chelsea were on the verge of signing Kenedy from Fluminense for a fee in the region of £6.3 million.

Kenedy, 19, played 45 minutes for the Blues in their preseason penalty shootout win over Barcelona this week.

Mourinho said of the winger in The Sun: "We brought Kenedy with us because we believe in him. He's a very young kid we believe a lot in.

"We have conditions to get him a work permit because we want him. We don't want him to go out on loan -- I think we have what the rules demand to get him a permit.

"He was in preseason with us without the documents so he couldn't play the first two matches for us.

"Against Barcelona he had the chance to do it. Even if it was a friendly I think it was the best debut for a kid to play against the best team.

"It was a great night for the kid and a great experience."
