Mario Gotze wanted by Juventus, Arturo Vidal agrees Bayern deal

Juventus' general manager Beppe Marotta has confirmed his club are interested in signing Bayern Munich's Mario Gotze while revealing Arturo Vidal has agreed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga champions.

Bayern have already ruled out a straight exchange deal between Gotze and Vidal but left the door open to a separate sale, while the Germany international himself has sent out mixed messages.

Speaking at a news conference in Turin as the defending Serie A champions reported for the first day of their preseason training camp, Marotta also declared once again that his club have no intention of selling Paul Pogba this summer.

"Gotze has a profile with the characteristics we are looking for, but we have not started any negotiations with Bayern," Marotta said,

"All we have done is made an enquiry. We have a good relationship with the Germans.

"Should they or the player express a desire to change, then we will be the first to seek a meeting to evaluate his signing."

The Vidal deal, though, is all but complete. It is now only up to Bayern to announce that deal after Marotta said all the contracts have been drawn up and are ready to be signed.

"Arturo is going to sign on for five years on lucrative terms," he said. "We don't sell for less than we ask for explicitly, as we did with [Carlos] Tevez, [Andrea] Pirlo, [Angelo] Ogbonna and Vidal."

Pogba has been valued at over €100 million, although not even that would now be an acceptable amount, with Marotta closing the door on a possible sale of the France midfielder this summer.

"He's an important player for us and we believe in him," Marotta said. "He has developed as a player here in Turin and we do listen to what interested clubs have to say about him, but we are not sitting down with any club for negotiations.

"Today there is absolutely no way we will sell him."

Meanwhile, Tuttosport has reported that Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici has flown to Germany to meet with representatives of Schalke to thrash out a deal for Julian Draxler.
