Asamoah Gyan signs for Shanghai SIPG from Al Ain

Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG have completed the signing of Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan from Al Ain.

Gyan, 29, has penned a two-year contract with the option of a renewal after passing a medical at Shanghai SIPG, who are managed by Sven-Goran Eriksson.

ESPN FC sources confirmed this week that Shanghai SIPG had agreed a fee for Ghana captain Gyan after agreeing a fee with Al Ain.

Gyan said on his official website upon the sealing of his transfer: "I thank God for this special day, to my family, former playmates at Al Ain and to my fans.

"I reserve the rest of my comments for the official unveiling next week."

The former Sunderland forward scored 95 goals in 83 games helping Al Ain win the league three times and in the process finish as UAE Pro League Top Scorer on three occasions.
