Demba Ba to sign for Shanghai Shenhua from Besiktas

Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua have announced they are to sign Demba Ba from Besiktas.

Ba, 30, left Chelsea for Turkish side Besiktas last summer and went on to score 27 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions.

The striker had been linked with a return to the Premier League, with West Brom mentioned as suitors, but he has opted for China.

Ba is to undergo a medical at Shanghai Shenhua on Sunday, with the club confident he will "greatly improve" their side.

The Senegal international will reportedly cost Shanghai Shenhua €13.5 million.

Shanghai Shenhua recently brought in former Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko, while in February they landed ex-Everton forward Tim Cahill.
