Bayern Munich to sign Douglas Costa from Shakhtar for €35m - report

Bayern Munich are closing in on a €35 million deal for Shakhtar Donetsk's Douglas Costa, Sport1 has reported.

The German broadcaster said the runaway Bundesliga champions had reached verbal agreements with the player and his club, with the move set to be made official soon.

The attacking midfielder, 24, is currently representing Brazil at the Copa America.

Last week, the player -- a key target for coach Pep Guardiola -- told Sport1: "I have been working for years towards playing at a big club in central Europe and if the opportunity arose, I would be very happy."

Costa, who has also been linked with Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United, AC Milan and Monaco at various times, is set to sign a four-year-contract.

Meanwhile, Dubai club Al Ahli announced on Wednesday that they had agreed a fee to sign Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano, who scored nine goals in last season's Champions League.

The club revealed the news on their official website, while Al Ahli chairman Abdullah Al Naboodah added on his personal Twitter account: "The details of the financial contract and the medical report will follow in the coming days."
