Zlatan Ibrahimovic to stay at PSG but no new contract - report

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to stay at Paris Saint-Germain after meeting the Ligue 1 champions' president, according to L'Equipe, but there is no talk of a contract extension for the Sweden star.

Ibrahimovic, 33, has just a year remaining on his PSG deal, and has been strongly linked to a move back to AC Milan, the team from which he joined PSG in 2012.

However, after meeting his boss, Nasser Al Khelaifi, in Doha, L'Equipe reported Ibrahimovic had promised the Qatari he would see out his contract at the Parc des Princes, though the French paper added there was "no question of a contract extension as some Italian media had suggested."

Accompanied by one of his sons and his agent, Mino Raiola, Ibrahimovic did, however, reportedly ask for his salary conditions to be reconsidered.

Le Parisien claimed the former Juventus, Inter Milan and Barcelona man asked Al Khelaifi, with whom he has a good relationship, to boost his wages, which are due to be cut by 20 percent as per the contract extension he signed in 2013.

The paper reported on Tuesday that Ibrahimovic was unhappy the reduction would mean he would no longer be the highest-paid member of the PSG squad.
