Crystal Palace keen on Chelsea striker Loic Remy - sources

Crystal Palace have made initial enquiries over the availability of Chelsea striker Loic Remy, sources have told ESPN FC.

Remy, 28, played a role in Chelsea's successful march toward success in the Premier League and Capital One Cup, scoring nine goals in all competitions in his first season at the club after his move from Queens Park Rangers last summer.

However, behind Diego Costa in the pecking order, he continues to be linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge and sources have told ESPN FC that Alan Pardew is keen to bring the Frenchman to Palace.

Pardew tried and failed to sign Remy during his time as Newcastle manager in the January 2013 transfer window, before he eventually secured the striker's services on a season-long loan for the 2013-14 season.

Remy went on to score 14 Premier League goals from 24 starts in a Newcastle shirt and was a part of the France squad at last summer's World Cup finals.

Succeeding in a move for a player of Remy's stature would back-up Pardew's aim to challenge for higher profile players this summer, as he revealed in an exclusive interview with ESPN FC last month.
