Adam Bogdan to join Liverpool from Bolton on a free transfer - sources

Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan on a free transfer, sources have told ESPN FC.

Bogdan, 27, is out of contract at the Championship club and has turned down the offer of a new deal to stay with Neil Lennon's side.

The Hungary international caught the eye of Brendan Rodgers during an FA Cup quarterfinal clash this season with a man-of-the-match display in a goalless draw at Anfield.

A number of clubs from around Europe have shown an interest in Bogdan, but Liverpool have moved quickly to acquire his services.

Bogdan, 27, is currently on international duty with Hungary.

"I am confident that soon will decide my fate," he told Nemzeti Sport in his homeland. "My goal is to play at a higher level but it also depends on where you get a chance.

"We'll see, everything is decided in the next week or two."

The Reds have been in the market for a new goalkeeper after informing Brad Jones he will not be getting a new deal when his current contract expires this summer.

Bogdan is expected to complete the move to Anfield on July 1 when the transfer window officially opens.

He is set to become Liverpool's second signing of the summer, with James Milner due to arrive on a free transfer from Manchester City, subject to a medical.
