Kevin De Bruyne rules out Chelsea return while Jose Mourinho is manager

Kevin De Bruyne will not return to Chelsea while Jose Mourinho is in charge of the club, the Wolfsburg midfielder has told Sport Bild.

De Bruyne, 23, left Chelsea for Wolfsburg in January 2014 and has since emerged as one of Europe's most exciting talents, recording 20 Bundesliga assists this season.

The Belgium international is under contract until 2019 but has been linked with a move away from Wolfsburg, but a return to his former side Chelsea is currently not under consideration.

"I think, to be honest, that I would not return to Chelsea as long as he is in charge," the midfielder said.

De Bruyne, who reiterated that while he is "very happy" at Wolfsburg and "has not talked to other clubs," things could change during the summer and did not rule out a return to the Premier League.

"I know that I like the Bundesliga, and it always did me good," De Bruyne, who spent the 2012-13 season on loan at Werder Bremen, said. "But I don't fear to return to England, or to play in Spain. I believe I can make it there. You can't compare my time at Chelsea with what is now."

When asked about Bayern's interest, De Bruyne replied: "If it's like that, then Bayern have to talk to Wolfsburg. Then those responsible will know what the deal is."

Meanwhile, his agent, Patrick De Koster, told Bild that he will enter contract talks with Wolfsburg next week.

"Kevin says that it's been a super season. Wolfsburg plays Champions League next season, and want to keep him at any rate. We'll sit down after the cup final and talk," he said.

De Bruyne has been key for his club as they finished second in the Bundesliga this season and sealed their first Champions League participation since 2009.
