Henrikh Mkhitaryan set for Dortmund stay as Thomas Tuchel makes plans

New Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel is reported to have told Juventus target Henrikh Mkhitaryan he will not be allowed to leave the club this summer, but the futures of Ilkay Gundogan and Mats Hummels remain less certain.

Dortmund's squad is expected to undergo a makeover when former Mainz coach Tuchel replaces Jurgen Klopp in the summer, and Mkhitaryan -- named as a target by Juve earlier this season -- was among those whose futures had been uncertain.

However, Bild reports that Tuchel has told the Armenia international, who became the club's record signing when he joined from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013, he will be staying at the Westfalenstadion.

"I have got a valid contract, and we'll see what happens in the future," Mkhitaryan, whose deal runs through to 2017, told Bild.

Gundogan, though, has told the club he wants to leave in the summer and Dortmund are expected to cash in before his contract expires next year.

A host of top clubs have been linked with the Germany international, including Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester United, and Eurosport journalist Dirk Adam has reported that BVB sporting director Michael Zorc said behind the scenes during a Sky appearance at the weekend that Gundogan is eager to join Barcelona.

On Tuesday, local paper WAZ had also linked Gundogan with a move to Wolfsburg, where he would play under his former Nurnberg coach Dieter Hecking. The newspaper followed that report by claiming on Wednesday that Die Wolfe had made contact with the midfielder.

However, Wolfsburg sporting executive Klaus Allofs told kicker that the rumours had been "plucked out of the air."

Meanwhile, there have been indications from club officials in recent weeks that Dortmund now plan to hold onto Germany centre-back Hummels, but Sport Bild has reported that a transfer to Manchester United is edging closer.

Hummels, who is under contract until 2017, had said last month that he was keeping his options open.

In terms of potential incoming transfers, Ruhr Nachricten is one of several newspapers to credit BVB with an interest in Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Gonzalo Castro, 27, as well as 21-year-old Johannes Geis, who is currently with Mainz.
