Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be leaving Paris Saint-Germain, agent insists

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent has rubbished suggestions the Paris Saint-Germain star will leave the French champions at the end of the season after falling foul of France's football authorities.

Ibrahimovic, 33, will miss his club's next four league matches after being suspended for insulting comments he made in an angry outburst at match officials following PSG's defeat in Bordeaux last month in an incident that provoked criticism of the forward from politicians, including French Prime Minister Manuel Valls.

The Sweden international, who still has a year left on his contract at the Parc des Princes, has endured an injury-peppered season, but has recently hit form, scoring 13 times in nine competitive outings, including a brace in PSG's Coupe de la Ligue final win over Bastia played on Saturday before his ban kicked in.

His representative, Mino Raiola, told France Football that Ibrahimovic's tirade, in which he vehemently criticised the performance of the referee, had been justified, but was not symptomatic of a deeper malaise.

"Zlatan feels very good in France, in Paris. There is no problem with this country, nor with the French people," he said. "But he thinks the championship must improve, that French football has to be professionalised at all levels, the Federation too.

"He thinks the French system isn't up to the standards of modern football. If you can't say that, then...

"I'm disgusted [about the ban]. It's not fair, but I'm not surprised. I had said that Zlatan would get a four, five or even six-game ban. If it had been a normal player, it would have been one match maximum.

"But because he's an extra-terrestrial, he gets four. Those are the problems of a judicial system which is not transparent in the federations. Moreover, Zlatan apologised."

Raiola added: "He won't leave France because of this suspension. It's not that which will make him leave. He's much stronger than that. He has fought all his life against people who don't know him and want to judge him. He always says, 'Only God can judge me'. He will perhaps become even more of a warrior, because the more you make war on Zlatan, the more Zlatan will make war."

Recent media reports in his native Sweden claimed Ibrahimovic had been spotted at the U.S. embassy in Paris where he was seeking a working visa for the country. This sparked speculation he could be set to join a Major League Soccer franchise.

Raiola, however, underlined the integral role the former AC Milan forward plays in the ambitious plans of PSG's Qatari owners to establish the club as a global football power.

"Zlatan has been the most fundamental player in the Paris project. And that's still the case. Zlatan cannot be on the transfer market. There's no need to ask me that. It's ridiculous," said Raiola, before denying his illustrious client was poised to move across the Atlantic.

"It's not true. It's a load of rubbish. If you want to work or play in the US, it's not you who'll go to the embassy to ask for a work permit, it's the club who'll take care of it. Zlatan has a contract with PSG. But you know, everyone has to write something about Zlatan."

When asked outright whether Ibrahimovic would still be a PSG player next season, Raiola responded: "I reply, 'Yes'" before adding, "I never swear to tell the truth when I reply 'Yes' or 'No'."
