S.League: Confident Protectors ready to take on Brunei DPMM

After a three-week break, Home United will return to Great Eastern Yeo's S.League action on Wednesday night in a blockbuster clash against Brunei DPMM at the Yishun Stadium.

The break from competitive action perhaps stretched a little longer than the uniformed giants would have liked, thanks to their early exit from the TNP League Cup.

The Protectors' League Cup hopes was crushed by eventual champions Albirex Niigata (S) and while crashing out of the tournament was not ideal, head coach Philippe Aw has faith that his side has got it out of their system.

"Exiting the League Cup was disappointing as we dominated against Albirex, who became champions," he told ESPNFC. "But we took the positives out of that tournament and have firm belief that we can do well when we resume [in the league]."

With the season entering into its latter half, sixth-placed Home will need to start picking up the more wins if they want to finish in the top half.

The inability to finish off their chances despite dominating most of their matches this season has been a persistent problem for Home, and it is an aspect that Aw is keen for them to rectify as soon as possible.

"We've been working really hard despite the fasting month," he said. "Finishing is one key area that has let us down this season, so we've been working on it.

"We'll set out to impose our game, which we have in all games this season. There won't be a change in our playing philosophy."

Aw singled out DPMM hitman Rafael Ramazotti as a potential threat, with the towering Brazilian netting both goals in their 2-2 draw earlier this season at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium in Brunei.

Strike partner Paulo Sergio is also a menace, while tabs will also have to be kept on the lively Azwan Ali, as Steve Kean's men also look to bounce back from being dumped out of the League Cup, as holders no less.

But apart from long-term casualty Noh Rahman, Home have everyone else available -- including star striker Ken Ilsø -- and Aw believes they can get a good result against the Bruneian side.

"They are a good team and their front pairing of Ramazotti and Sergio have given teams problems this season," he pointed out. "In our first meeting, it was Ramazotti who scored the two goals and he'll be one to watch again.

"But as a team, we are confident we'll give our opponents a hard time in this match. We have a fully fit squad aside from captain Noh Rahman and we are ready as a team!"
