Sevilla captain and double goal scorer Coke Andujar hailed his team's "heart and soul" as they came from behind to steamroll Liverpool and win 3-1 in Wednesday's Europa League final in Basel.
Sevilla seemed up against it at half-time after Daniel Sturridge's superb curler had put Liverpool ahead, and Jurgen Klopp's side also had two decent penalty claims for handball turned down.
It all changed after the break though, with Kevin Gameiro getting one back within 18 seconds of the second half starting, and Coke scoring twice more as Liverpool's challenge disintegrated.
Speaking to BeIn Sports after the final whistle, the Madrid-born player admitted it had looked dark for his side at one point, but they had been able to come through the suffering and out the other side.
"This is very difficult to explain," Coke said. "We suffered a lot over the season, we lost big players through injury, but today we had to fight for them and the team left everything out on the pitch.
"It seemed tough for us, they could have scored a second, but this team has heart and soul and gave everything."
Sevilla have now won the competition for a record three consecutive years, coming back each time after top players such as Ivan Rakitic or Carlos Bacca are sold in the summer.
"Every summer 10 players leave and we must build a new team," Coke said. "We work so hard every day, every year. It was difficult, we fell out of the Champions League [after this season's group stages]. This must be valued a lot as we have worked so hard."
Unai Emery's side now face La Liga champions Barcelona in Sunday's Copa del Rey final, with both teams going for a double at the Estadio Vicente Calderon.
"We still have another final to play, but we should all enjoy this now," Coke said. "This is a very special week, it's impossible to begin it in a better way."
Sevilla fans were outnumbered by Liverpool counterparts at Basel's St Jakob Stadium -- where there was some trouble before kick-off -- but Coke said he and his teammates had not felt a lack of support.
"We knew we were not very many [Sevilla] fans," he said. "But each one is worth four of them. Thanks to everyone who believed in us, who paid the money to be here. This is for the fans to enjoy."
