Sevilla face potential punishment from the Spanish Football Federation due to offensive chanting by their fans in their 3-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid last month.
The Spanish FA's Competition Committee has begun proceedings after a formal complaint was made by the Spanish Football League (LFP) against the club.

According to the Competition Committee, "derogatory chants" were made by a section of Sevilla fans "at different times" throughout the Primera Division encounter against Atletico at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Aug. 30.
A statement from Sevilla on Thursday confirmed the proceedings and said: "The Committee has appointed a judge that will look at the case once Sevilla present their defence before making a ruling.
"It will be the Committee to have the last say as to whether to impose a punishment, in which case Sevilla could appeal to the Appeal Committee."
The LFP is clamping down on anti-social behaviour in games and has declared that insulting chants constitute "symbolic violence."
Earlier this year, Sevilla were handed a four-match partial stadium ban by the RFEF's Competition Committee after their fans were found guilty of offensive chants directed at city rivals Real Betis during last season's La Liga game between Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao on April 4.
However, Sevilla appealed against the ban and were successful.
The European champions return to La Liga action on Friday at Levante before beginning their Champions League campaign at home to Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday.
