Sevilla sporting director Monchi admits he does not know if Unai Emery will stay at the club next season with Milan, Manchester City and Real Madrid among the highly-rated coach's reported potential suitors.
Emery, 43, is one of the most respected up-and-coming coaches in European football, having guided Sevilla to the Europa League trophy in both his seasons in charge having previously impressed during a three-year stint at Valencia.
After his side's 3-2 final win over Dnipro in Wednesday's 2015 final, Emery refused to go into detail about his future after being pressed repeatedly on Spanish TV channel Cuatro, finally saying: "I am very happy here."
Although Emery is contracted to the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan club for the 2015-16 season, the highly-respected Monchi told AS that he did not know if the Basque coach would stay or not.
"It is that I don't even know," the former Sevilla goalkeeper said. "Not even I know [what will happen]."
Monchi said he hoped that Emery stayed on as he was the "perfect" coach for Sevilla's requirements.
"I have said it many times," he said. "If there is a profile for the perfect Sevilla coach, the name is Emery. He guarantees competitiveness, results, he increases the value of his players, he works hard... in truth he has everything.
"He has brought stability to Sevilla, has increased the value of our squad and its commitment as you see daily -- he is fundamental for this club."
Emery is second favourite in the betting for the current vacancy at Real Madrid, with Blancos president Florentino Perez thought to see him as next-best alternative should negotiations with first-choice target Rafa Benitez -- who is departing Napoli -- fall through.
AS reports that Manchester City are also interested in hiring Emery, claiming that Portuguese super-agent Jorge Mendes is now looking after the 43-year-old's affairs and has spoken to City's director of football Txiki Begiristain.
Emery's name has also been linked in recent months with Milan, who are unlikely to appoint a new coach until uncertainty over the club's future ownership is cleared up.
Potential new owner Bee Taechaubol is reportedly being advised by Doyen Sports -- an investment fund which also has close links to Mendes -- and has a long-standing relationship with financially-troubled Sevilla.
