Kondogbia unfazed by speculation

Sevilla midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia has said he will not get carried away despite speculation linking him with some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Kondogbia, 20, has impressed many observers with his performances for the Rojiblancos this season - his first La Liga campaign since joining from Lens in the summer.

The €8 million-rated France Under-20 player has been linked with clubs including Juventus, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City, but told L’Equipe he was focusing only on Sevilla.

“This happens to many other players too,” Kondogbia said. “I do not like to look too far ahead. I am just concentrating on the next game, and do not want to get distracted with these things.”

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has spoken recently about his club’s need to raise money in the summer by selling players, and Kondogbia is among his most valuable assets.

The situation is complicated, however, by third-party investors the Doyen Group reportedly holding a 50% share in his registration, having helped provide the €1.5 million needed to sign him.
