Osvaldo Alonso could miss Seattle Sounders' playoff match vs. LA Galaxy

Seattle Sounders midfielder Osvaldo Alonso could miss his side's one-game MLS Cup playoff against the LA Galaxy on Wednesday.

Alonso limped off in the 73rd minute of Seattle's playoff-clinching 3-1 defeat of Real Salt Lake on Sunday. Sounders coach Sigi Schmid wouldn't rule him out against the Galaxy, but said he'd make the final call on gameday.

"We wanted him to do some work inside," Schmid said on Tuesday. "We'll make the decision tomorrow."

Alonso, who defected from Cuba in 2007, has been one of the Sounders' most productive players since joining the club in 2009.

Alonso has participated in 22 of Seattle's 34 matches this season, starting 21 of them, and has played in 16 of the team's 17 postseason games.

His only playoff absence was in the first leg of last season's Western Conference final against the Galaxy.
