Queen's Park maintained their chase for automatic promotion after edging out Morton 2-1 at Links Park.

Forward John Carter put the visitors in front after 25 minutes with a delightful finish past goalkeeper Stuart McKenzie.

They extended their lead 12 minutes later after midfielder Darren Miller's corner was headed in by Paul Woods at the back post.

McKenzie then pulled off a brilliant finger-tip save from Ciaran McElroy's shot to deny Queen's Park a third on the stroke of half-time.

Liam Cusack scored the only goal of the game as Albion held out for a 1-0 win over Clyde at the Broadwood Stadium.

Cusack opened the scoring after just 14 minutes when he fired home a crisp strike from a tight angle.

The hosts almost replied immediately but for a fine save from Neil Parry to keep out Euan Smith's stinging effort.

Albion lost the influential Cusack to injury after the break but could have scored again had Scott Chaplain's strike not hit the foot of the post.

Paul McManus bagged a brace as league leaders Arbroath saw off a spirited East Stirling 3-2 at Ochilview Park.

The visitors took the lead after 20 minutes when Simon Murray fired in a neat finish from a tight angle.

The Shire came close to an immediate equaliser but Marc McCallum produced a fine save to push Conor Greene's header over the crossbar.

But they did draw level 10 minutes after the restart when David McKenna prodded home following some good work by Martin Shield.

Annan continued their fine run of home form with a last-gasp 2-1 win over East Fife which ended the visitors' five-match unbeaten run in Scottish League Two.

In the final minute of normal time, the visitors had Gary Naysmith sent off for fouling David Hopkirk in the area and replacement Scott Davidson smashed the resulting penalty into the top corner.

After a tight first half, the Galabankies edged ahead five minutes into the second period when Kieran Brannan's cross was headed in at the near post...

St Johnstone loanees Craig Thomson and Alex Gilchrist are in the Elgin squad for the visit of Berwick.

Mark Nicolson and Archie MacPhee could return after missing the 3-0 defeat from Albion Rovers last Saturday but there are doubts over Daniel Moore and Shane Sutherland who have been ill.

Manager Jim Weir said: "It is good to add to the pool as we needed some freshness in the squad. The Albion Rovers game was my second match and I saw things I liked and disliked.

"Hopefully it will only be good things...
