Play-off hopefuls Stranraer opened their League One account with a 1-1 draw, after being pegged back by Forfar in the second period.
Striker Jamie Longworth put the hosts in front after finishing well inside the penalty box.
Forfar's Gavin Malin came close to an equaliser with a curling free-kick just two minutes later but goalkeeper David Mitchell saved down low.
At the other end Robert Douglas was equal to a Jackson Longridge header before being called into action again on 62 minutes, parrying a Sean Winter shot from distance.
Forfar levelled proceedings shortly after when Stuart Malcolm rose highest to head in a Danny Denholm cross.
Dale Hislon nodded an effort wide for the visitors on 83 minutes before Stranraer midfielder Christoper Aitken had a shot saved by Douglas in added time to ensure the spoils were shared.
