Airdrie striker John Boyle is set to make his long-awaited return to action against Lanarkshire rivals Albion Rovers.
Boyle has been out for more than a year with a knee injury but he is expected to play some part for the Diamonds on Saturday.
That means Liam Coogans is the only injury doubt for manager Gary Bollan, who has six new signings to choose from.
Bollan said: "We ended last season very positively and are looking to start this one in the same manner. I am pleased with the recruitment so far but would still like to add a couple more.
"This will be a really competitive cup tie as not only is it a derby but their players will be out to impress a new manager."
Rovers' new player/manager Darren Young is set to name himself in the squad - and may even start in midfield.
Goalkeeper Neil Parry has been passed fit after illness with the only doubt for the League 2 side being Scott Chaplain.
Young said: "I am really looking forward to my first game in charge. It is a cup tie and a local derby so it should have a great atmosphere at it.
"We have done well in pre-season but the real action begins now and, whilst we are the underdogs in the tie, we will go out and try and win it."
